RX Technology

Hey -- welcome to RX. I’m John, a senior software engineer based in Christchurch, New Zealand. I’m the director and developer at RX Technology, where I focus on building high quality full-stack software applications.

Generally I’m comfortable with the following tech stacks / languages:

• - Python (Django, Flask, Celery, many many Python libs)
• - TypeScript (Node.js, Express, React/Nextjs, Vue/Nuxtjs)
• - GraphQL and REST API creation or maintenance
• - PostgreSQL, PostGIS, MS SQL Server, MySQL databases
• - Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, etc) and Windows servers
• - Third party integrations such as AWS, Sendgrid, Stripe

I’m heavily experienced with all things geospatial (over ten years), so you’ll likely find me working with interactive maps, geospatial and satellite data, map servers (both FOSS4G and Esri experience), or just tinkering with something related to remote-sensing/satellite data!

I’m also experienced with the cloud and can provide architecture/server configuration services if required. Although generally I tend to prefer serverless solutions where possible.
